Teo Jordan, 18 years old from Covington, Kentucky just proved that kindness and generosity can be shown in whatever way, no matter how small or simple this way can be. It doesn’t really matter how you extend help, as long as you do it from the heart.

This young man works as a bagger in a local Kroger branch after his classes as a senior high school student. On one of his shifts, Teo overheard the cashier telling an elderly man trying to buy groceries that he did not have enough money to pay for the items he took.

“I just seen I wanted to help the guy. I saw that he didn’t have the money for all the groceries that he wanted. The cashier told him he would have to put some of the things back, so I just thought in my head I would give him this $35 so he could have all the food that he wants,” Teo shares in an interview with WLWT-TV .

He’s only been a bagger at the store for a few weeks. He applied for the job so he could save enough money to buy himself a car. Every cent counts for Teo, but when he heard about the old man’s situation, he did not think twice about reaching inside his own pocket to help the man in need.

When he checked his pockets, Teo found $35 which he instantly handed to the elderly man.

“The cashier told him he would have to put some of the things back, so I just thought in my head I would give him this $35 so he could have all the food that he wants,” Teo shared in an interview with WTHR .

To the 18-year-old, it was important to meet his own goals. But, it is equally important to know when to extend help because someone really needed it.

“Just treat people the way you want to be treated (and) always help out if someone needs it,” Teo further shared with WTHR.

Teo’s act of kindness has caught the attention of people in the community and online. He has been receiving positive comments for his selfless act, but the person who feels the proudest for what the young man did is none other than his mother, Stephanie Burton.

“I am proud of Teo,” she said. “I’m overwhelmed with joy. You try to instill in your kids right and wrong but you don’t know if they comprehend, so yes I’m very proud. He gave him an extra couple of meals that he probably didn’t have.”

Stephanie added: “We just need to be human again.”

Teo gave away $35 out of the kindness of his heart. Now, people online have made a move to return his incredibly inspiring act into something that would also help the young man achieve his dream of buying his own car.

A GoFundMe page has been created for the teen and it has now reached around $2,500 out of the target of $3,000. Wow!
